Are you involved with your school's Parent/Teacher Organization or Association (often called PTA, PTO or PTSA). If one of your duties is to head up a particular fundraising drive we congratulate and respect you greatly. You have taken on one of the toughest and least glamorous jobs out there.

We also know that you wouldn't be doing this if you didn't care deeply about your kids and their school. So, we applaud you for your self-sacrifice and the example you are setting for other parents.

Every school year parent/teacher groups such as PTA, PTO and PTSA plan fundraisers.  This is one of the major functions of the Elementary school parent teacher group, to raise funds to help support educational efforts and "extras" for the children.

There are a wide variety of fundraisers that PTA and PTO groups can choose from. Many groups have a tradition of a particular fundraiser.  Some schools have a candy sale every year.  Other groups have a gift catalog sale.  Many schools have a school carnival or fall festival as a major family fun event and fundraiser.
