Football Game Fundraiser

Two California high schools will meet for an annual rivalry on the football field tommorrow. The booster club is pre-selling tickets for $25 which include a commemorative T-shirt and a chance to win a Thanksgiving turkey.
The objective, according to 1953 McClatchy graduate Bud Powell, is to fill the stadium to bring in funds for both schools.
So far, Powell says his alumni group has raised $13,000, but the hope is to bring in much more by matching the Thanksgiving crowds from 1936 to 1975 that sometimes topped 20,000.

What a great way to raise funds. The football game is already planned so the ground work is already there. Many people were probably already planning on going. The commitee just needed to focus its efforts on maxing out the attendance. They added additional incentives for people to purchase the advance tickets by including bonuses with the ticket : the t-shirt and raffle ticket.
