Berkshire Grown is a non profit organization that supports Massachusetts farms. One of the organization’s offerings is the School Fundraising Program.Â
The program brings local producers together with local schools and organizations that need to raise money. It’s a great way for community members to support one another. According to the Berkshire Grown website,
Using our new Berkshire Grown fundraising website, your children will learn the importance of buying local, of making the connection with local business people, and of sharing the responsibility of supporting our own community.
Several of the Berkshires businesses produce specialty gourmet foods such as chocolates, coffee, breads, pancake syrup and mixes. Participating businesses allow school groups to sell locally grown products at wholesale prices to raise funds.
