High School Pizza Fundraiser Ideas

PizzaPizza Fundraisers can be a hit with high school students. There’s a variety of ways that high schools can host a pizza fundraiser.

1. Dine out at a Local Restaurant – Many restaurants and fast food places now have special fundraising programs set up for schools. Your group brings in customers to the restaurant on a certain night and time. Anyone from your group (or invited by your group) puts their receipt in a designated container. At the end of the evening, a percentage of these sales are given to your school.

There are no up front costs for your school. The only work on your part is advertising this event to the families and making sure they show up. Make sure that the percentage that is offered to your school is a fair one. Check with your local locations for more information.

2. Host a Pizza Dinner at your School – Host a pizza lunch or dinner with pizzas from a local restaurant. Sell pizza by the slice plus breadsticks, sodas and desserts. If you host the event right after school, before or after a sports event or at the same time as another event the event will be more likely to have good attendance.,

Negotiate with a restaurant for good price on the pizzas. If you are hosting a larger event, you may be able to get the pizzas donated. Ask if the restaurant will donate the pizzas (or reduce the price) in exchange for free advertising. Publicize that the event is sponsored by that particular restaurant on tickets, banners, newspaper articles, and all other advertising. For example, include a tagline such as “Sponsored by Pizza Hut on Main Street” on everything.

3. Sell Pre-made Pizzas or Pizza Kits – The high school can also sell pizza related merchandise through catalog sales. There a wide variety of pizza catalogs available including those from Little Caesars’s and Joe Corbi’s.
4. Pizza Card Fundraiser - Your school can offer pizza discount cards that feature Pizza Hut. Depending on the number of pizza cards you purchase, your group can make over $9,000!

If your local Pizza Hut has not participated in this fundraiser in the past it is easy to get them onboard. You’d just need to print out the agreement form and drop it off for a manger to read. Don’t forget to include a cover letter (on official letterhead if possible) describing your group, why you are raising funds, how this is free advertising for them, brings them in business, and is completely free for them to participate!
