Students at Hillandale Elementary School in Durham, North Carolina, took a special hike to raise funds for their P.T.A.. The hike was through the school’s nature trail. Students enjoyed this unique fundraiser.
Third-grader Michael Bizzell said the hike through his school’s unique nature trail was “fun,” saying he was “looking for animals” along the way.
When asked about his favorite part, third-grader Tyler Moore said, “…you get to walk and get to give money to our school.”
Funds were raised by asking family and friends to sponsor their walking. Funds will be used to purchase interactive marker boards for the classroom that cost approximately $5,000 each. The organizers of the walk hope they have raised $10,000 from the nature hike walk.
