159 Ways to Raise Money for Your School!

Welcome back to Top School Fundraisers! On Monday, I took a few minutes to introduce myself as the new host to this community. One of the things I mentioned is that I’ve spent the last few weeks familiarizing myself with the archives of this blog. I figured that if I were going to come up with regular content going forward, I should really have a thorough understanding of the information that has established this very useful website.

To summarize my general impression of this blog catalog, I have one pithy word for you- WOW! I actually got the calculator out and counted up the number of posts that are sitting there, free of charge, just begging you to read them and learn. Want to guess how many?

159! That’s right. There are 159 (160 actually, if you count this one) insightful and meaningful articles about how to raise money for YOUR school. Whether you are interested in running a modest product sale or organizing a full-scale silent auction, this site has you covered.

If you know you’ve got to plan something, and you’re stuck for ideas, spend a few minutes perusing our collection- you’re sure to find just the perfect fit for your situation. Interested in the latest trends in school fundraising circles? We sport articles that discuss healthy fundraisers, green fundraisers, and downright unusual fundraisers. There are even posts on what to do when you’re plain old sick and tired of fundraisers.

Another great feature of this blog is that we have case study after case study of various fundraising methods in practice. We can tell you what worked and what flopped. If you’re seriously thinking about adding a new event to your fundraising calendar this year, you’ll have a guide at your disposal.

I’ve been reading blogs on the Internet pretty regularly for a while now. And I, myself, have fallen into some bad habits now and again. I am also guilty of only looking for the latest posts- the ones hot off the presses. If it’s not in the top three most recent in my feedreader, I’m not interested. It’s sort of like only looking at the new release shelves at the video store. Ever notice how worn the carpet can be along the perimeter of the local Blockbuster?

I want to remind myself and encourage you to venture away from the new releases from time to time and check out for all the older films, you know- the ancient ones, from like 2003. You never know when you’ll come across something terrific, an award winner! Trust me, they’re out there!

So, please don’t forget to subscribe to this blog by RSS or through your email account, so that you never miss a new post. However, once you’re here, take your shoes off, make yourself comfortable, and stay awhile. You’ll be glad you did.

Now, what are you still doing here? Go! Read some old stuff!
